What Is It?

This course introduces students to basic MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) concepts and techniques. Topics include keyboard programming, sound modules, sequencing, and electronic music production.

What To Expect

Students use Sound Production/Engineering concepts and digital recording studio (sound production) skills to experience real-world, professional applications. Lessons and projects are created to have students consider the wide- ranging of opportunities within the audio field and the skills needed to attain them. Sound Production allows students to explore their personal interests (making music, scoring and foley work for film and video, sound design, etc.), while being challenged to go beyond what they know and learn. The Sound Production courses prepare students with skills they might use as a professional sound engineer/ producer.
