What Is It?
This course teaches the fundamental skills necessary for administrative and clinical duties in a physician's office or a medical clinic. Students will learn, and practice skills required for Medical Assistants through core curriculum and simulated clinical exercises, including the ability to prepare patients for examinations and treatments, perform a variety of standard laboratory procedures, assist with minor surgical procedures, and maintain patient health records.This engineering honors course gives students the opportunities related to understanding manufacturing. At the same time, it teaches students about manufacturing processes, product design, robotics, and automation. Technology will be used to enhance students' learning, and provide real-world applications. Students will be introduced to the Project Lead The Way® activity-based, project-based, and problem-based learning through exploring the world of aerospace engineering.

What To Expect
Students will have the opportunity to receive a certificate listing the proficiencies they completed during the courses. Medical Assistant and Medical Assistant - Clinical, provide certification for BLS CPR, medication injection, and ECG, and will equip students for entry-level employment as medical assistants in various employment settings.
