AVUHSD Schools Take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place at UAV Challenge in Australia

Five teams of AVUHSD students participated in the UAV Challenge in Australia last month!

Congratulations to the Knight High School Sky High and Blue Birds teams who took 1st and 2nd place respectively, and to Palmdale High School's PH Falcons who took 3rd place!

The Queensland Government Airborne Delivery Challenge tests civilian application of drone technology - essentially using a drone to drop an EpiPen to a simulated "lost hiker." The teams had great drops, putting them closest to the "lost hiker." Our two additional teams took 5th and 7th place.

This is an experience of a lifetime for our students and we couldn't be more proud of their success. Thank you to the teachers, parents and community members who support this effort - we are grateful for you!
