Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2025/26 school year! As Principal of Palmdale High School, it is my honor to partner with you—our students, families, and community—in fulfilling the aspirations of our school and district. I would like to share our vision, mission, and graduate profile so that we are all moving together toward common goals and understand what success looks like for every student.
Our District's Mission & Vision
Mission
The Antelope Valley Union High School District (AVUHSD) mission is "to provide equitable learning opportunities for all students."" Its vision is "all AVUHSD graduates will possess the skills and attributes to make an affirmative contribution to their community and world."
Our School's Mission
At Palmdale High School, our mission is to foster an inclusive environment where every student can flourish academically, emotionally, and socially. We guide students in recognizing, growing, and leveraging their unique strengths to become strong creators, collaborators, communicators, and contributors.
Graduate Profile: What Every Student Will Become
When students graduate from our district—and thereby from Palmdale High School—they will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to succeed. According to our district and school sources, graduates will embody these four categories:
- Creator: Generate and transform original ideas; integrate new information to develop alternative solutions; determine the reliability, relevance, and credibility of new methods.
- Collaborators: Work with a diverse group of people to achieve a shared goal; adapt to different approaches, ideas, and perspectives of others; identify, analyze, and solve problems to further develop as an active team-member.
- Communicators: Deliver information and ideas to a variety of audiences; use multiple methods of communication to convey thoughts and ideas; express themselves effectively in academic and social settings.
- Contributors: Listen actively to others' perspectives and feedback; improve the community through individual and group actions; make responsible and informed decisions on contemporary issues. Our commitment is that by the time students walk across the graduation stage, they will not only have met academic benchmarks but also be ready to: pursue college, enter a career with confidence, engage in civic and community life, and continue learning throughout their lives.
What This Means for You
For Students
- You are encouraged to engage in rigorous coursework, to make the most of our academic, technical and extracurricular programs.
- You are invited to explore and develop your unique strengths—whether in creativity, communication, teamwork, or leadership.
- You will be asked to take responsibility for your learning, to collaborate with peers, and to contribute to our school community.
For Families
- Your partnership is vital. Support your student by staying informed, encouraging their strengths, and collaborating with teachers and staff.
- Engage in our school community and our district's processes—your voice, ideas and feedback matter.
- Help us ensure our school remains a safe and inclusive environment where every student can flourish.
Together, We Can
When we work together—students, families and school staff—our mission becomes reality. Every day we strive to provide a safe, supportive environment; a rigorous curriculum; and the opportunities for every student to become the kind of graduate described above. At Palmdale High School, every student's story matters: Every student, every need, every story.
I look forward to working with you this year. Let's make it a year of growth, achievement, and community. Please feel free to reach out to my office with any questions, suggestions, or ways you'd like to get involved.
Thank you for being part of the Palmdale High School family.
With gratitude and high expectations,
Eric Stanford
